Een langer weekend willen we allemaal wel. En je zomervakantie langer laten lijken? Ja, ja, JA! Ik wist niet eens dat daar trucjes voor bestonden, totdat ik erover na ging deken. Eén trucje vind ik via dit artikel op ze.nl waarin zij één tip geven waardoor het weekend langer duurt.

Denk ik terug aan mijn eerste keer klimmen in zo’n groot klimbos in Frankrijk, dan is dat inderdaad iets ‘langs’. Ga dus nieuwe dingen doen en je weekend (of vakantie) lijkt langer te duren!
Jammer genoeg noemt ze.nl maar één trucje waardoor je weekend langer duurt. Dat vond ik vrij kort voor een nieuw artikel. Maar zelf heb ik natuurlijk ook nog een paar tips voor je, waar je vast wel iets aan hebt.
2. Sta vroeg op in de zomervakantie
Stel dat je normaal gesproken om 11 uur op zou staan in het weekend, en misschien ook in de vakantie. Op schooldagen sta je misschien wel om 7 uur op. En weet je: als je op een van deze tijdstippen opstaat, voel je je sowieso moe. Maar als jij in het weekend om 8 uur opstaat, dan ben je én genoeg uitgeslapen – ja echt, blijven liggen tot 11 uur werkt veel minder goed – én je hebt veel tijd bespaard. Je hebt dan maar liefst 3 uur extra. Dat is per weekend dus zo’n 6 uur extra! Hoeveel zal dat wel niet in de hele zomervakantie zijn?!
3. Plan al je taken in de ochtend, omdat..
Heb je 3 belangrijke taken om te doen? Plan dat in de ochtend! Van 9 tot 10 maak je één taak, van 10 tot 11 de tweede taak, enzovoort. Dit helpt omdat je middag eindeloos lijkt te duren als je al je taken in de ochtend al af hebt. Je hebt in de middag dan ook geen dingen meer die je zou kunnen uitstelle. Op die manier ga je je tijd dus ook niet verspillen. Daarnaast raak je in de ‘flow’. En die flow kun je dan weer gebruiken voor de leuke dingen die je in het weekend wilde gaan doen: afspreken met vrienden, je creatieve ideeën uitwerken of misschien gewoon bloggen als je ook een blog hebt 🙂 Hoe meer van dit soort dingen je uiteindelijk weet te plannen in de middag, hoe langer de dag lijkt te duren.
4. Maak een vakantieplanning
Als je voor 6 weken een planning maakt met alle leuke activiteiten die je nog gaat doen, dan lijkt je vakantie ook langer te duren. Waarom? Omdat je dan doorhebt hoeveel je kunt doen in al die tijd! Vul alle ‘gaten’ op (of plan bewust vrije tijd in, ook leuk!) en het lijkt langer te duren.
5. Wees (op vakantie) in het moment zelf: dat helpt écht!
Klinkt heel spiritueel op een of andere manier, maar zo bedoel ik het nou ook weer niet 😉 Wat ik wel bedoel: probeer te genieten van het moment zelf. Hoe gek het ook klinkt, als je je júist beseft dat deze tijd, de zomervakantie, voorbijgaat, lijkt het langer te duren. Had ik ook in Rome. Veel mensen uit m’n klas, vonden dat het snel voorbij was (hé, dat rijmt!) terwijl ik zoiets had van: hoeveel weken zijn we hier al? Oké, dat is overdreven, maar je snapt m’n punt. Die 5 dagen duurden voor mijn gevoel twee keer zo lang. En dat omdat ik op het moment zelf nadacht over hoe ik later aan Rome terug zou denken en me heel goed besefte dat we er ‘maar’ vijf dagen zouden zijn.
6. Houd een (vakantie)dagboek bij
Ikzelf doe dit niet, maar bedacht me net dat je dan letterlijk alles opschrijft wat je doet in de vakantie. Dan besef je pas écht hoeveel je kunt doen in die 6 weken. Waarschijnlijk zal het dan ook weer lijken alsof je vakantie langer duurt.
7. Stel een dagelijks doel (en haal dat doel!)
Kijk: als je een aantal doelen stelt die je uiteindelijk niet haalt, dan lijkt het alsof de zomervakantie juist te kort was. Maar stel je een dagelijks doel en zorg je er ook echt voor dat je dat doel haalt, dan werkt het juist wél. Je denkt dan terug aan al die doelen die je al gehaald hebt en zo lijkt je zomervakantie weer een stukje langer te duren.
En vandaag, nu jullie dit lezen, ga ik lekker waterskiën. Geen helemaal nieuwe ervaring voor mij, maar toch iets speciaals. Ik heb er zin in! Wat gaan jullie vandaag / deze week doen?
