Dan maar een extra mailtje sturen, of accepteren dat je door jouw fout onnodig veel heen-en-weergemail krijgt. Maar een verzonden mail terughalen kan dus gewoon. Daar kwam ik laatst dus achter. Ik had laatst een mailtje teruggestuurd naar een bedrijf, want we hadden contact voor een samenwerking. Ik had toen per ongeluk op verzenden geklikt, terwijl ik helemaal geen ‘Groetjes Eva’ onderaan de mail had gezet én de laatste zin had geen punt. Dan voel ik me natuurlijk ontzettend lomp, want de laatste tijd doe ik juist mijn best om nette, duidelijke mailtjes met een goed begin en einde te maken. Ik wist dat je je e-mail verzenden ongedaan kon maken, maar wist niet hoe. Dat heb ik toen opgezocht en ik deel deze tip graag met je.
Ik wéét dat er heel veel bloggers zijn die een info e-mail hebben. Maar ik weet ook dat sommigen die gekoppeld hebben aan Gmail, dus dan kun je toch deze tip gebruiken. Hoe je je info e-mail kunt koppelen aan Gmail vind je hier.
Dus. Hoe pas je je instellingen aan zodat je het verzenden van een e-mail ongedaan kunt maken? Natuurlijk moet je eerst Gmail openen en vervolgens inloggen. Dit zijn de volgende stappen:
- Klik rechtsboven op het tandwieltje
- Klik daarna op ‘instellingen’
- Check of je op het tabblat ‘algemeen’ bent
- Links staat waarvoor welke instelling is
- Kijk bij ‘verzenden ongedaan maken’
- Schakel die optie in
- Kies een annuleringsperiode
En vanaf dan wordt je e-mail pas verzonden na de periode die je hebt ingesteld. Dit is bij mij 30 seconden. Maar dit kun je gewoon aanpassen en verlengen. En vanaf nu kun je een verkeerd verzonden e-mail gewoon annuleren.
Tip: annuleren via je telefoon gaat wat lastiger. Je krijgt niet de optie ‘ongedaan maken’ te zien. Wel heb je nog steeds die periode waarin je je verzonden mail kunt intrekken. Als je in die tijd naar je outbox gaat, je mail kopieert en vervolgens verwijdert, wordt hij niet verstuurd. Dan plak je je mail opnieuw en verbeter je hem.
Handtekening toevoegen op Gmail
Een heel artikel voor één tip? Dacht het niet. En aan deze tip heb je ook vast wel iets. Een standaard ‘groet’ gaat je waarschijnlijk veel tijd besparen en bovendien staat het professioneel. En dat is zeker voor bloggers heel handig. Vaak is deze zogenaamde handtekening inclusief link naar je blog, je social media, en alles wat je er nog bij wilt zetten. In het begin zul je dit vaak bij elk mailtje opnieuw schrijven, maar dit kan veel simpeler en sneller. Je kunt namelijk een automatische handtekening gebruiken voor je mail. Zo kun je een standaard afsluiting voor je mail maken, die je nooit meer zelf hoeft te typen. Handig, toch?
