Fotografie | 6x dingen die ik té vaak fout doe (en waar jij van kunt leren!)
Dit artikel gaat vooral over outfitfoto’s. Want man, wat sta ik altijd prachtig op de foto. Niet dus. Achteraf zit ik altijd met een big smile de foto’s terug te kijken en kan ik mezelf soms echt hard uitlachen. Sommige dingen in dit artikel gaan trouwens ook over productfotografie, dus als je nooit outfitfoto’s maakt, dan heb je er tóch wat aan.
1. Witbalans vergeten of verkeerd instellen
Met als gevolg te blauwe foto’s. Of mijn foto’s hebben opeens een rare kleur. Altijd gaat het verkeerd bij de eerste foto, haha. Het is ook echt zo’n dingetje dat je echt snel vergeet. Ook heb ik vaak dat foto’s op het schermpje van mijn camera er wel oké uitzien, maar dat ze alsnog te blauw zijn uiteindelijk. Dat pas ik dan achteraf aan met Picmonkey.
Tip: zet hem op automatisch, als je eraan denkt kun je ‘m altijd nog instellen op bijvoorbeeld daglicht.
2. Mijn foto is overbelicht (terwijl het lijkt van niet)
Als ik outfitfoto’s ga maken, maak ik altijd eerst van degene die foto’s maakt een foto. Zo kan ik zelf even kijken hoe het zit met het licht, en of ik de sluitertijd dan moet aanpassen. Op m’n schermpje lijkt de foto al snel goed. Echter, als je inzoomt dan zie je dat de foto toch wel overbelicht is. Ook zorgt een witte lucht nogal snel voor een overbelichte foto. Je kunt eigenlijk beter een iets donkerdere foto hebben dan een overbelichte foto waar je niks mee kunt.
Tip: zoom in om te kijken of het niet overbelicht is of maak de sluitertijd korter dan je denkt dat goed is. Hierdoor komt er minder licht binnen en voorkom je dat je foto te licht wordt.
3. De camera is niet gefocust
Zelfde verhaal als net, het lijkt goed, totdat je de foto uitvergroot op je computer ziet. Dan zie je dat je foto totaal niet scherp is! Daar kun je zelf niet altijd iets aan doen trouwens. Ja, je kunt een onscherpe foto krijgen als je je camera niet stil houdt, maar soms kun je er echt niks aan doen.
Tip: weet je niet zeker of de foto scherp is, zoom in op je camera zodat je de foto nog opnieuw kunt maken
4. Ik vergeet de details
Niet dat ik er veel aan kan doen, want details zoals een scheve ketting of iets anders wat niet goed zit, zie ik natuurlijk niet zo snel als de fotograaf zelf. Toch is het wel een belangrijk deel van je foto! Zie je de foto’s hierboven? Van boven naar beneden: een scheve choker, mijn práchtige sokken – niet dus, waarom trek ik überhaupt lange sokken aan?! Nouja het is wel warm – en een vouw in mijn truitje. Die laatste twee heb ik overigens wel in een outfitartikel laten zien, omdat ik ze verder wel mooi vond.
Tip: vraag van tevoren aan je fotograaf of hij/zij extra op de details wilt letten. Sommigen zien dit soort dingen eerder dan anderen, dus je mag het best even zeggen van tevoren.
5. Ik krijg geen blurry effect
Als je dat wazige effect niet krijgt op je foto, dan sta je te dicht bij de achtergrond. Dit weet ik, maar doe ik alsnog verkeerd. Ook toen ik er laatst op lette toen ik in Utrecht was – die outfit komt nog online – was het toch moeilijk. Je wilt natuurlijk het gebouw achter je wel op de achtergrond, maar ook een blurry effect creëren. Vanwege de paaltjes die in de weg stonden, konden we eigenlijk ook niet zo veel. Dit is best moeilijk dus!
Tip: sta ver – heel ver – van de achtergrond af voor een wazige achtergrond op je foto. Gebruik ook een laag diafragma zoals 1.8 of zelfs 1.4.
6. Niet mooi op foto’s staan
Als ik mijn hoofd een beetje naar beneden richt en dan in de camera kijk, sta ik echt verschrikkelijk op foto’s. Ik moet dus echt mijn hoofd recht houden. Een beetje omhoog kan ook, zodat ik een klein beetje naar beneden moet kijken in de camera, maar zodra het andersom is, mislukt de foto. Dan wordt het op een of andere manier echt een ik-kom-je-halen gezicht. Nee, dat willen we niet.
En zo kan ik nog wel even doorgaan, want ik heb eigenlijk nog 4 (!) andere dingen die ik vaak fout doe. Maar hier leer ik zoveel van! Ik ben bij de volgende outfitfoto’s met meerdere dingen rekening gehouden, en het hielp echt. Ik sta – al zeg ik het zelf – gewoon veel beter op die foto’s. Natuurlijk krijgen jullie altijd de beste foto’s te zien, dus zien jullie nooit de hoeveelheid foto’s die mislukken, haha. Nu zaten er in ieder geval veel leuke tussen. Stay tuned voor een deel twee!
