Waterskiën en wakeboarden op kamp (en hoe ik per ongeluk van de schans ging)
Zoals je waarschijnlijk wel kunt zien op de foto hierboven, had ik echt heel veel zin in waterskiën. Ik heb al vaker gewaterskied, twee keer achter een boot en één keer ging ik (zoals nu) naar Beesd, waar ze een soort kabelbaan hebben. Dit werd dus de vierde keer.
Op kamp
Ik ging afgelopen woensdag t/m vrijdag met mijn klas op kamp. Op de fiets gingen we naar een camping (Betuwestrand) in Beesd. De waterskibaan waar we die donderdag heen zouden gaan hoort bij die camping , dat was ook de reden waarom we naar Beesd gingen.

Waterskiën (de vorige keren)
Toen ik de vorige keer ging waterskiën in Beesd, ging ik met m’n zus. Zij was erheen geweest met haar sportklas en had daardoor een kortingsbon zodat – als ik het goed heb – het 2e uur waterskiën gratis was. Ik heb het toen 9 (!) keer geprobeerd voordat het eindelijk lukte! Daarna kwam ik steeds tot de derde bocht. Er zijn namelijk vijf bochten, waar het touw dat je vast hebt wat losser is wanneer je niet goed naar de buitenkant hebt gestuurd. Ik wist nu dus mijn valkuil (letterlijk, haha) en daarom ging het op kamp veel beter.
Waterskiën achter een boot is trouwens veel moeilijker, omdat je dan vanuit het water omhoog moet komen. De eerste keer was het daarom niet gelukt. Daarna was ik dus één keer in Beesd geweest, en toen ik daarna achter een boot ging waterskiën, was het wel een keer gelukt. Toch blijft waterskiën achter een boot moeilijk.

Waterskiën op kamp
Volgens mij was het voor iedereen – behalve voor mij dus – de eerste keer dat ze gingen waterskiën. Toch vond ik dat de meesten het heel goed konden. We hadden de klas trouwens verdeeld in twee groepen, zodat we niet met 28 tegelijk gingen. Ik stond bijna achteraan in de rij, dus het duurde even voordat ik aan de beurt was.
Toen was ik dus aan de beurt. En tot mijn verbazing lukte het in één keer zonder te vallen! Het lukte meteen om 3 rondjes te waterskiën. Daarna gingen m’n armen pijn doen, dus ik besloot om na het derde rondje los te laten op de plek waar ik was begonnen. Daardoor hoefde ik niet helemaal terug te zwemmen en kon ik dus snel weer overnieuw starten.

Toen ik dus na één keer proberen meteen 3 rondjes had gewaterskied, vroeg de man die hielp met de touwen aangeven etc. of ik een wakeboard wilde. Ik zei natuurlijk meteen ‘ja’, want ik wilde altijd al een keer wakeboarden! Voordat ik dat deed ging ik eerst nog 2 rondjes waterskiën. Daarna kreeg ik een wakeboard.
En het lukte alweer om in één keer te starten zonder te vallen. Maar toen kwam het sturen.. Het lukte nog niet echt om te sturen en ik ging recht op een schans af. Het lukte me niet om nog naar rechts te sturen, dus ik ging half over die schans heen, en ging er aan de zijkant weer af. Je raadt het al: ik viel! Dus toen moest ik weer terug zwemmen. Voor de veiligheid moest ik toen wel een helm op van mijn mentrix, die natuurlijk ook mee op kamp was. Daarna lukte het om bij de derde bocht te komen met het wakeboard, want die meneer zei dat sturen met één hand los makkelijker was.

Ik raad het echt aan om een keer te gaan waterskiën in Beesd! En neem ook je ouders mee, want kijken is ook heel leuk. Dus als je toevallig dichtbij woont, kijk dan vooral even op hun website. Je hoeft niet per se op de camping te staan om daar te kunnen waterskiën. Het is ook leuk om een keer met je vrienden te waterskiën of wakeboarden in plaats van een dagje naar een pretpark, want vergeleken met dat is het erg goedkoop!
